On arrival at the Pembrokeshire coast, I felt weary after an unexpectedly long journey.
I made tea and sat quietly, gathering myself, listening to the melody of excited women’s voices. Some were greeting old friends, others making new introductions, all wondering what the days ahead would bring. We ranged in age from 24 to 74, a span of 50 years of life experience. Some had come simply curious, while others were professionals already working with women’s bodies.
As someone who is accustomed to giving in healing spaces, I found myself learning how to receive. To voice what my body wanted: a little more pressure, a different hand position, a slower pace. There is something profoundly healing about allowing ourselves to ask for what we need and to be tended to. In that softening, the grip on what has been quietly held within the body begins to loosen.
After almost four decades of working with women’s bodies through the subtlety of energy work, the hands-on language of massage, muscles and fascia, and with the support of herbs, oils, steam, smoke, feathers and drum,
I was looking to deepen my understanding. I found it in the simple yet profound practice of holding bones as keepers of memory, instinct and belonging.
I’m always seeking ways to deepen how I support women. While yoni steaming works with herbs, warmth and the wisdom of the pelvic bowl, Holding the Bones offers another gentle layer of listening through touch, presence and the body’s own intelligence.
Experiences like these continue to shape both my one-to-one work and my Yoni Steam Practitioner Training, ensuring what I teach is grounded in ongoing learning as well as lived practice.
What I brought home
- Focused stillness is not the same as doing nothing.
- The pelvic bowl holds far more than the sum of its parts.
- Truth, grief and tears all have a place here.
I remain devoted to exploring the intricate wisdom held within women’s bodies, supporting us as we come home to ourselves and gently lay down the burdens that were never ours to carry.
For now, I won’t be offering Holding the Bones as a standalone treatment. Instead, I find myself imagining it woven through deeply nourishing, exquisitely feminine days of care, where touch, rest and ritual intertwine.
Those ideas are quietly taking shape.
In the meantime, you can always explore my other holistic treatments I offer here at Wombon.
